Community Commitment

Mother Earth Literacies was contracted by The Galactic Tribe/Walanda Alliance in November of 2022. Since then, MEL has helped the tribe apply for more than ten sustainability and program related grants! Our scope of work includes not only grant writing, but helping organize internal structures such as revising the by-laws of the org, staffing and director job descriptions, volunteer and staffing policies and procedures, and finding sustainable funding for their 5 established programs. On January 24, 2023 MEL helped facilitate the Board of Directors’ Annual meeting with great success! The Galactic Tribe is an Afrofuturist organization embedded in the Black community on the East side of Buffalo, NY.
